The collection is divided into three series:
1. Correspondence from 1920-1967.
2. Hughes' tenure as a law professor at Georgetown University.
3. Hughes' law practice and cases from 1919-1970.
The Thomas A. Hughes, SJ Papers consist of unpublished drafts for a proposed third volume of A History of the Society of Jesus in North America, Colonial and Federal covering 1773 to 1829.
The collection consists of hundreds of pages of Margaret Bond's music manuscripts and manuscript fragments, letters and cards from Langston Hughes and others, photographs, programs, and ephemera.

Artificial "collection" of approximately 500 maps of unknown provenance. Many of the maps contain a Georgetown College or Riggs Library stamp and have been held by the Library for some time.
