"In the latter part of March 1899, the central room of the North Building, formerly the College Parlor, was completely renovated. While the workmen were taking down the old washboard around the floor, this copy of the Centinel of Liberty was found in between the washboard and the wall.

This room was used then as a bedroom for Post Graduates and was re-arranged to hold the Bric-a-brac given by Mrs. L.B. Hughes."
