Scope and Contents Joseph Himmel (1855-1924) was born in Annapolis and entered the Society of Jesus at Frederick in 1873. He was prefect at the College of the Holy Cross (1878-1882), was on mission at St. Mary's (Boston, 1885-1888), and was superior at Keyser Island (1898-1907, 1912-1921). Fr.
