Brooks writes, "You are surely right in wishing to be presented as a poet, not as a Catholic poet or as anything special..." Enclosed is 1 TLS dated 10/8/1945 from John F. McCormick. 1 TLS (with envelope) dated 10/22/1945 from Brooks to Maynard. 1 ALS from Brooks to Maynard regarding the death of Maynard's wife, Sadie. 1 ALS dated 12/15/1945 from Eleanor Brooks to Maynard regarding Sara "Sadie" Maynard's death.
