Stevenson to campaign supporter Theta Juanita Pitts, copies of correspondence from Stevenson to Pitts, and letters from Stevenson's staff to Pitts. The bulk of the correspondence was written surrounding Stevenson's two presidential campaigns in 1952 and 1956 while he was governor of Illinois. Articles, correspondence, notes, and manuscripts relating to Dr. Albert Plesman (1889-1953), Dutch pioneer in aviation and founder of KLM, the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original name. Includes a carbon copy of typed manuscript of Plesman's autobiography; "Wither Civilization," a typed manuscript by Plesman; a photograph of a bust of Plesman; and a group photograph of Plesman with Mayor of Sydney, Australia, Ernest C. O'Dea (b. 1889-1976).
