The collection consists of audiovisual recordings related to bioethics, the bulk of which are recordings of lectures delievered at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics (KIE). This includes the KIE's Intensive Bioethics Courses and Advanced Bioethics Courses. The recordings are in a variety of formats, including audio cassettes, compact discs, DVDs, micro cassettes, VHS cassette tapes, 1/4" open reel audio, and other formats.
The recordings primarily consist of lectures delivered by EDP at both Georgetown University and other institutions. They include audio cassettes, VHS tapes, compact disks, and DVDs.

The series contains drafts of articles, books, chapters, etc. authored by Veatch, dating from 1971 to 2019. The series also contains related records such as correspondence and research notes. Many of the papers were presented at conferences, and some appear to be unpublished. It includes a collaborative work with Edmund D. Pellegrino (“Dialogue”). The series consists of materials that document Veatch’s life and career, including photographs, personal mementos, clippings, family correspondence, awards, and other items. It contains the index to his personal bioethics classification system. Veatch was an active genealogist and the series includes family histories that he authored and self published. Also of note are materials related to his time in Nigeria serving in the Peace Corps.
