Series 7: Biographical Materials and Memorabilia, circa 1939-2021

Scope and Contents

The series consists of materials that document Veatch’s life and career, including photographs, personal mementos, clippings, family correspondence, awards, and other items. It contains the index to his personal bioethics classification system. Veatch was an active genealogist and the series includes family histories that he authored and self published. Also of note are materials related to his time in Nigeria serving in the Peace Corps.

Conditions Governing Access

Unpublished Georgetown University administrative records may be consulted only with the permission of the University office which created it. This includes, but is not limited to, Georgetown University administrative files found in boxes 16-18 and Kennedy Institute of Ethics files found in boxes 23-28.

Additionally, documents found in Series 9: Manuscript Reviews are restricted from 75 years from their date of creation for privacy reasons.

All other processed materials are generally open for research.
