The collection consists of audiovisual recordings related to bioethics, the bulk of which are recordings of lectures delievered at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics (KIE). This includes the KIE's Intensive Bioethics Courses and Advanced Bioethics Courses. The recordings are in a variety of formats, including audio cassettes, compact discs, DVDs, micro cassettes, VHS cassette tapes, 1/4" open reel audio, and other formats.
Materials are open without restrictions.
Researchers are solely responsible for determining the copyright status of the materials being used, establishing who the copyright owner is, locating the copyright owner, and obtaining permission for intended use.

The bulk of the recordings found in this collection have not been digitized for access purposes. Please consult with the Bioethics Research Library for information on acessing the recordings.
Kennedy Institute of Ethics recordings were transferred to the BRL Archives starting in the 1980s. Other recordings have been collected over the years by BRL staff.
The recordings have been rehoused in archival-quality boxes when possible.
