He alludes to tension in the cortical religion, but then switches to discussion of his friends Monsieur P. Jouve and P. Guillaux.

Amidst the discussion of the cyclotrons, the National Glacier Park, and les Rocheuses, he discusses how thought, energy, and money have changed humanity. Upon his return to New York, he has begun his questioning of the origin of man in Africa. He mentions the death of his friend, Jouve.
