The collection includes correspondence with Dwight D. Eisenhower, Sen. Ralph Flanders, John Bankhead, Walter B. Smith (CIA director), and Claude Rains.
The collection primarily consists of printed materials related to U.S. intelligence and national security issues from the 1980s to 1990s. Material types include newsletters, reports, journals, clippings, press kits, government documents, and gray literature. It also incudes documentaries and non-fiction works on VHS and audio cassette tapes.
Correspondence and manuscripts (including an autobiography) of Edwin Emerson, journalist and miscellaneous writer, touching on his experiences in the Spanish-American, Russo-Japanese, and First World Wars. Includes photographic materials.
The Shusaku Endo papers include manuscript drafts of Endo's novels "The Samurai" and "Scandal," a short story draft, and an as-yet unidentified draft. Evident in the manuscripts are Endo's corrections and notations, the additions and revisions he occasionally taped to existing manuscripts, and the work of his secretary to transcribe a clean version of the draft for later review.
The Cornelius Van H. Engert papers 2 comprise a portion of the personal papers of Cornelius Van H. Engert, a U.S. diplomat who served in a number of important diplomatic posts. The collection includes correspondence, diplomatic memos, printed materials, speeches, and photographs.
The Peter Epinette, SJ Papers contains a letter from Fr. Dzierozynski regarding the "Mattingly Miracle," an "Exhortation on the Commons Rules," and four bound volumes of spiritual writings.

The collection also includes printed ephemera from the early days of the "Medical Department of Georgetown College."
