Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Mary Ellen Evans was born in 1912 in Dubuque, Iowa. She attended the State University of Iowa, Columbia University, and the Catholic University of America. Evans was an editor and writer affiliated with publishers P. J. Kenedy and the Oxford University Press. She was a Dominican tertiary; as well as member of the Catholic International Council and the North American Liturgical Conference. She spent many years in New York, before moving back to Dubuque where she resided until the end of her life, in 2000.
