Scope and Contents The collection consists of records related to the Biomedical Ethics Advisory Committee (BEAC). It includes transcripts of the committee's two meetings, the briefing book for the second meeting, meeting notes, correspondence, and other records. The collection includes a mix of records that belonged to Robert Cook-Deegan (acting executive director), Claire L. Pouncey (research assistant), and Edmund D. Pellegrino (vice-chairman).

Scope and Contents The collection consists of statistical summary data for sixteen countries derived from a survey on ethical problems faced by medical geneticists. The survey was conducted by John C. Fletcher of the National Institutes of Health in 1986. The data was used in a study published in 1989 as Ethics and Human Genetics: A Cross-Cultural Perspective. The collection also includes an explanatory letter and a copy of the questionnaire.
