The group functioned only briefly from late 1988 to early 1989. The BEAC did not release any reports.

The collection is comprised of four accessions. Robert Cook-Deegan and Claire L. Pouncey donated both meeting transcripts in 1989 (Accession 016). Edmund D. Pellegrino donated his records related to the committee in 1989 (Accession 021). LeRoy Walters donated an additional transcript for the second meeting in 1990 (Accession 028). Robert Cook-Deegan donated additional materials related to the second meeting in 1990 (Accession 033).
