The collection contains eight autograph letters written by Georgetown College alumni to fellow alumus, Joseph P. Orme, between the years 1856 and 1860. The content of the letters range from catching up on news of friends and family to serious political debate. The opinions written by these young men display the divided state of the nation on the brink of civil war. Of the seven friends, at least three went on to fight in the war, two for the Union and one for the Confederacy.

Charles W. Umbaugh World War II Letters
Collection of over 200 letters written by and to Washington, D.C. resident Charles W. Umbaugh, dating from 1941 to 1944. Umbaugh served stateside during World War II, first in an Army hospital and then later in the Army Air Corp. The letters document Umbaugh's experiences in the armed services as well as his family's experience as civilians on the homefront during the second World War.

Rogers Family Papers
The Rogers Family Papers consist of fifteen series, the first being on the Rogers & Clarke families in general, and the remainder focusing on the papers of individuals such as James Webb Rogers I, J. Harris Rogers, James Charles Rogers, Cora Rogers Clarke, Phillips H. Clarke Jr., Mae Harris Clarke and George E. Sullivan. The final series contains objects and oversize materials of varying types.
