Scope and Contents

The James Pye Neale, SJ Papers consist primarily of correspondence to his mother Sarah Neale from 1856 to 1894 while she was living in Hearne, Texas. Fr. Neale focuses on updates regarding family and friends in his earlier letters (-1876) and transitions into discussing his missionary work in the parishes (namely St. Inigoes) as his time in the Society progresses.
