The Carl Wheeless Papers represent the research files created by Carl Wheeless for his book "Landmarks of American Presidents: A Traveler's Guide," published in 1996. Included are manuscripts, photographs, and promotional material relating to writing and publication of the book. Also contained is his autobiography "Steps to the Goal and Beyond to the Calling" from 2001.
The John Bannister Tabb Papers consist of more than 40 letters, manuscripts, and cards sent from Fr. Tabb to Dr. Thomas R. Price and Price's family. The letters touch on Fr. Tabb's poetry and publishing matters. A few poems by Fr. Tabb are found among the documents. Most of the letters were sent by Fr. Tabb from St. Charles College in Ellicott City, Maryland. Several prnted items about Fr. Tabb are also retained.
The Eugene G. Boss Collection of Lincolniana contains ephemera about Abraham Lincoln. The collection includes engravings, prints, letters, photographs, objects, newspaper clippings, and books. The documents focus on Lincoln's political career. Some original letters signed by Lincoln were transferred to the Presidential Autographs collection, a separate manuscripts collection.
Collection consists of materials relating to the Brent, Carroll and Chilton families of Maryland and the District of Columbia, dating from late 17th to early 20th centuries, but primarily from the 19th century.
