The collection consists of the proceedings of meetings held by the National Institute of Health's Human Embryo Research Panel, dating from February 1994 to June 1994. The Human Embryo Research Panel was established to provide the Director of the National Institutes of Health (Harold Varmus) with recommendations regarding human embryo research and guidelines for federal funding of such research.
The Human Fetal Tissue Transplantation Research Panel was established in 1988 as an ad hoc consultant group to the Advisory Committee of to the Director of the National Institute of Health. The collection contains records related to the Panel, including meeting transcripts, briefing books, clippings, the Research Panel's final report, and other documents.
Material re relief for Hungarian refugees in the Washington, D.C. area, particularly those who enrolled at Georgetown University. Includes material re language training and scholarships. Present is: Hungarian Refugee Students and United States Colleges and Universities - A Progress Report on the Emergency Program to Aid Hungarian University Students in the United States, October 1956-February 1957 by Committee on Educational Interchange Policy, March 1957.

This collection contains a typescript of Fr. John F. Hurley's experiences during the occupation of the Philippines (1941-1945) in which he was held at Santo Tomas Internment Camp. The account was written at the request of Fr. William C. Repetti, then Georgetown University Archivist, in 1964.
Correspondence of Elizabeth, Countess of Iddesleigh and sister Susan Lowndes, the daughters of writer Marie Belloc Lowndes. Includes letters from English Catholic writers Isabel Clarke; Martin d'Arcy, SJ; Arnold Lunn; Archbishop David Mathew; as well as more than 130 letters by C.C. Martindale, SJ, many written during internment in Denmark during World War II.

Contains undated, handwritten infirmary poem: "To number eighteen the poor student repairs, And anon Brother Richard comes stalking up the stairs . . . " and infirmary charts from the influenza epidemic of 1918.
The collection includes a large quantity of autograph manuscripts by the noted lawyer and lecturer Robert G. Ingersoll, the "Great Agnostic." There is also a group of Ingersoll correspondence, a law diary, and a group of early printed materials. Of major note are two manuscrpt drafts of the famous "Plumed Knight: speech nominating James G. Blaine for the presidency in 1876. An addition to the collection is an account book from Ingersoll's law firm giving details on his legal business.
Contains material re Institute which was established to "study the history, culture, the political, social, and economic development, the racial and linguistic characteristics of all the nations and peoples which were forcibly incorporated into the Soviet Communist orbit" (from letter from Director Tibor Kerekes to Congressman Michael A. Feighan, December 11, 1956). Includes papers and publications.
Collection of unpublished philosophy lectures given at Georgetown College during the academic year 1834-1835 by John Stephen Gabaria. Lectures were transcribed by one of his students, Richard D. Cutts and appear to cover topics of logic and metaphysics. Handwritten text is in Latin.
The collection consists of statistical summary data for sixteen countries derived from a survey on ethical problems faced by medical geneticists. The survey was conducted by John C. Fletcher of the National Institutes of Health in 1986. The data was used in a study published in 1989 as Ethics and Human Genetics: A Cross-Cultural Perspective. The collection also includes an explanatory letter and a copy of the questionnaire.

Includes general information about intramural athletics including organization of competition and eligibility, information on the individual sports teams participating in intramural activities for the year including team or individual participant names, summaries of each sports program and comparisons of activity against the 1971-72 academic year, and schedules.
