Scope and Contents

Files related to Da Costa's work as an educator, primarily at Rutgers University. Includes a large file of promotional material compiled by Da Costa in support of his promotion to full professor in 1991, a file on Rutgers activities, course notes on music theory, music history, African American music, Jazz studies, and blank exams from his courses. Da Costa's correspondence from Rutgers is located in box 25. Additional notes and articles on African American music are in box 27.

Scope and Contents

Published sheet music, photocopies, and occasional manuscripts composed by others, including historical composers, Da Costa's teachers, contemporaries, and students. These files also contain copies of violin compositions performed by Da Costa. Additional sheet music can be found under the composer's name in the Individuals files, box 22. Published, bound sheet music, mostly European classical composers (box 32).
