Scope and Contents

The death certificates provide the following information about the deceased: name, date of death, age at death, and place of burial. Burials occurred in local cemeteries, including Holy Rood Cemetery in Georgetown and Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The death certificates are arranged in chronological order.

Scope and Contents From the Series:

The account ledgers itemize the costs for funeral services facilitated by Clements' Sons. The ledgers are in chronological order. Some of the ledgers have an alphabetical index at the beginning. The name of the deceased person, the date of death, and an itemization of costs appear in the ledger. Costs include the coffin, embalming, flowers, and hearses.
