Scope and Contents

Mixed materials related to Da Costa's career outside of the Academy, including files on his work as director of the Triad Chorale group, as conductor of the Detroit Symphony, as a violinist and studio recording artist. Also includes files on Composers Recordings, Inc. (founded by his teacher Otto Luening), and his own ATSOC, Inc. music publishing concern (box 24). Personal correspondence and research notes on music theory and orchestration (box 25). ASCAP certificates, photographs and art (box 31).

Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval.
