The Barnes Collection is the photographic morgue file of the Barnes Company, which specialized in the production of albums reproducing the faces and giving capsule biographies of members of Congress during the latter part of the nineteenth century. The collection includes 501 imperial carte de visite photographs, principally of members of Congress from 1872 to 1876, many of the photographs being embellished by added signatures trimmed from letters or other documents.
Contains both black-and-white and color photographs. Includes photographs of architectural models and floor plans, negatives, and interior and exterior shots of Leavey, including views from the rooftop plaza.
"Assassins", a musical by John Weidman and Stephen Sondheim, was presented by the Mask and Bauble Dramatic Society in 2005. The show was produced by Jamie Gahlon and directed by Micheal Kocher. Included in the collection are a program, an album of color photographs, and a video recording of a performance. Also included is an album of color photographs from an earlier Mask and Bauble presentation of "Assassins" in 1997.
