This collection is the second accession of the papers of the notable Irish poet, Desmond Egan (1936 - ). A portion consists of correspondence from international scholars, writers, several Irish ministers and various foreign ambassadors to Ireland. The Irish Manuscripts collection consists of two bound volumes, one sewn signature, and one loose gathering, all held in the Georgetown College archives in the first half of the 19th century, from around 1823. All contain modern manuscripts in the Irish language that were made not much earlier, perhaps in the second half of the 18th century, and all but the sewn signature are written using Irish orthography.
