The Rogers Family Papers consist of fifteen series, the first being on the Rogers & Clarke families in general, and the remainder focusing on the papers of individuals such as James Webb Rogers I, J. Harris Rogers, James Charles Rogers, Cora Rogers Clarke, Phillips H. Clarke Jr., Mae Harris Clarke and George E. Sullivan. The final series contains objects and oversize materials of varying types.

Edward Jackson, Jr. Papers

Scope and Contents The collection documents the D.C. Youth Chorale (the official city-wide chorus of the D.C. Public School System) and its director, Edward Jackson, Jr., primarily from the 1960s to the early 1980s. It includes concert programs, advertisements, and newspaper clippings, as well as materials collected for Jackson's application for the 1983-1984 National Teacher of the Year Award. Found in Notes:  The group sang at the United States pavilion of the 1964 World’s Fair in New York, was also the core ensemble which sang as the Washington Festival Chorus on The Ed Sullivan Show. Under the subsequent leadership of Edward Jackson, director from 1966-1995.

A collection of 10 autograph letters, dating between 1822 and 1848, addressed to the longtime American consul in London, Col. Thomas Aspinwall. They are from several prominent Americans and Englishmen seeking Aspinwall's assistance in a variety of matters.

Dates: 1822-1848; Majority of material found within 1842 - 1845
Found in Notes:  On completion of his formal education, Aspinwall entered the law office of William Sullivan, and subsequently became a partner. He later opened his own firm and continued in practice until the outbreak of the War of 1812, at which time he gave up his profession and tendered his services to the government.

Abstract

The collection consists of audiovisual recordings related to bioethics, the bulk of which are recordings of lectures delievered at the Kennedy Institute of Ethics (KIE). This includes the KIE's Intensive Bioethics Courses and Advanced Bioethics Courses. The recordings are in a variety of formats, including audio cassettes, compact discs, DVDs, micro cassettes, VHS cassette tapes, 1/4" open reel audio, and other formats.
