1 Autograph Letter Signed dated 8/27/1867 from Peter J. Sullivan to Admiral Palmer of the U.S. Navy, acknowledging the arrival of the flag ship "Susquehanna" off the coast of Colombia. Comments about the state of affairs in Colombia, including the status of General Mosquera. Sullivan asks the ship to contact him periodically. Reference to the arrival of an Admiral in the Peruvian Navy, the war between Spain and Peru and Chile, the possible annexation of Cuba, and America's "manifest destiny." Sent from Bogota, Colombia.
