Because of his mathematical and scientific skills, Jesuit leaders selected Grassi to travel to China to evangelize its leaders. After this he was sent to Georgetown College where he was provincial and president of the school (1812-1817). He returned to Italy in 1817 where he held a variety of positions such as rector of the College of the Nobles, Turin; confessor to the queen; rector of Propaganda...
