This one box collection is additional material for the John O'Leary Papers. The papers contained here are more personal in nature including handwritten notes and correspondence. There are also items that were added to the collection at a later date. John O'Leary was the U.S. Ambassador to Chile 1998 - 2001.

Collection-level Scope and Content Note The collection consists of the papers kept by John O'Leary during his Ambassadorship in Chile and in preparation for his assignment there. The collection includes daily schedules, correspondence (primarily email), subject files, press clippings, video tapes and awards. In 1998, John O'Leary was nominated by President Clinton to be the Ambassador to Chile, a post he accepted and held for three years. Contains correspondence sent from various U.S. Governors to William H. Natcher dating primarily to the 1970s and 1980s. Much of the correspondence pertians to the effect of different pieces of legislation on given Governors' home states. In addtion, Congressional appropriations are a frequent topic of discussion. The correspondence is arranged alphabetically by name of Governor.
