James H. Jones Collection on David Vetter

Abstract

The collection primarily consists of interviews conducted by James H. Jones with medical professionals who were responsible for the care of David Vetter. Vetter suffered from severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) and was popularly known as the "Bubble Boy." The interviews were conducted in 2001 for a book that was ultimately not completed. Additionally, the collection contains audiovisual materials and photographs related to Vetter.

David Landers Collection

The David Landers Collection contains manuscript fragments from antiquity. Several of the manuscripts are from Egypt, including a Demotic business document on papyrus circa 600 BCE, a linen fragment from about 800 BCE, and a coffin fragment circa 1959 BCE - 1918 BCE. Other documents are Greek, including uncial fragments on papyrus from about the 4th Century. The collection is arranged into 7 folders.

David Landers Peruvian Manuscripts Collection

Scope and Contents The David Landers Peruvian Collection contains fifteen autographed legal documents, dated 1566 to 1626, in addition to a listing of hospital patients from 1776 and an Incan khipu. The documents are linked at times by a common witness, or notary public, along with other signatures from those involved in the particular exchange. Scope and Contents note The Jones-Donner collection contains twelve letters to Pamela Donner, one of Jones' many personal friends, dated from January 9, 1961 - May 11, 1974.
