The collection primarily consists of interviews conducted by James H. Jones with medical professionals who were responsible for the care of David Vetter. Vetter suffered from severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) and was popularly known as the "Bubble Boy." The interviews were conducted in 2001 for a book that was ultimately not completed. Additionally, the collection contains audiovisual materials and photographs related to Vetter.
Interview subjects include Patricia Bealmer, John C. Fletcher, David A. Freeman, Ellen Hilton, Tom Langford, Raymond Lawrence, Jack Montgomery, Mary Ann South, and Joseph (Raphael) Wilson.
Interviews are closed to researchers through July 2032. All other materials are open to researchers.

The collection has been rehoused in archival quality boxes. Original folders have been retained when possible. Digital images have been copied from Kodak Photo CDs to the BRL Shared Drive.
