Scope and Content note The Shusaku Endo papers include manuscript drafts of Endo's novels "The Samurai" and "Scandal," a short story draft, and an as-yet unidentified draft. Evident in the manuscripts are Endo's corrections and notations, the additions and revisions he occasionally taped to existing manuscripts, and the work of his secretary to transcribe a clean version of the draft for later review.
