Lancicius collection

The collection contains three early nineteenth-century MS English translations by Novice M. Magan of Lancicius' (1574-1652) Latin treatise 'On the Duties of Lay Brothers.' One was from Georgetown, 1808, another(incomplete) belonged to William F. Felix, 1836, while the third, undated,belonged to the Brothers at Georgetown.

David Landers Collection

The David Landers Collection contains manuscript fragments from antiquity. Several of the manuscripts are from Egypt, including a Demotic business document on papyrus circa 600 BCE, a linen fragment from about 800 BCE, and a coffin fragment circa 1959 BCE - 1918 BCE. Other documents are Greek, including uncial fragments on papyrus from about the 4th Century. The collection is arranged into 7 folders.

David Landers Peruvian Manuscripts Collection

Scope and Contents The David Landers Peruvian Collection contains fifteen autographed legal documents, dated 1566 to 1626, in addition to a listing of hospital patients from 1776 and an Incan khipu. The documents are linked at times by a common witness, or notary public, along with other signatures from those involved in the particular exchange. The Peruvian documents demonstrate the importance placed by the Spaniards in maintaining a written record for a wide variety of transactions during the colonial era....
