The papers of Ora Patience Lumpkin Mayfield are contained in 5 boxes. Box 1 comprises correspondence only. Box 2 contains memorabilia collected by Ora Mayfield, and the arrangement is alphabetical. The third (3) box holds greeting cards and photo albums of family and friends while box 4 contains diaries and books. The last box (5) holds two (2) Tyler Rose commemorative plates.
The Ann G. McDonald collection of Graham Greene consists of printed periodical articles by and about noted English Catholic author Graham Greene. McDonald collected these materials in support of her doctoral dissertation. Her dissertation, entitled "A Bibliography of the Periodical Contributions of Graham Greene" (1969), is also preserved among these papers. One of the folders in the collection contains periodical clippings of Greene's fellow English Catholic writer Evelyn Waugh.
Consists of two published World War II albums recounting the wartime service of the U.S.S. Bataan (CVL 29), 1943-45, and the U.S.S. Bairoko (CVE 115), 1945-1946, on both of which McHugh served as a Chaplain in the Pacific. He attained the rank of Ltcmdr. The first ship, the light carrier Bataan, saw heavy action; the second, the escort carrier Bairoko, came too late to see any action.
