John W. Snyder Collection on U.S. Presidents
Scope and Contents
The collection contains memorabilia and photographs related to the administration of Harry S. Truman and U.S. Presidential inaugurations, especially the 1961 inauguration. These items were collected by John W. Snyder, who served as Truman's Secretary of the Treasury and was a member of the 1961 inaugural Committee. It also contains a set of portrait engravings of every U.S. President through John F. Kennedy (as well as a portrait of Snyder and a portrait of Alexander Hamilton).

Processing Information
The collection was processed in 2026. Materials were rehoused in an acid-free box and folders. The portrait engravings found in this collection were originally housed in commemorative albums that were given to John W. Snyder while he was Secretary of the Treasury. The engravings were removed from the albums for preservation purposes.
