Michael Amrine Papers
Scope and Contents
The papers include a large quantity of Amrine's literary manuscripts, together with correspondence, print and near print material relating to a number of subjects, most importantly, atomic energy research and development.
Correspondents include: Albert Einstein, Hans Bethe, Harold Urey, Thomas Hart Benton and William Allen White. Other materials include a collection of black and white still photographs relating to Amrine's research interests and tape recorded interviews, used as background for a number of his books.

Conditions Governing Access
Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.
Biographical Note
Michael Amrine (1918-1974) began his career in journalism in 1934, working for a number of years with the Federation of Atomic Scientists while editing the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. Amrine is the author of a number of books, including This Awesome Challenge (1964).
