Volume bound in black watered silk. Ownership inscription of "Jane Johnstone" on first front free endpaper and once within. Note on front cover label, "Autograph 'introduction' written by F Liszt. 2 July 1841. J.J." refers to a manuscript introductory passage tipped inside the cover page of the 1st printed edition of "The Polacca, Son vergin vezzosa" in Bellini’s Grand Opera, I Puritani, Arranged for the Piano Forte, and Dedicated to Madame la Princesse Belgiojoso, By F. Liszt. London: Cramer, Addison & Beale, [1840?]. This introduction was incorporated into later editions. The printed score present here also has one two-bar amendment, likely by Liszt, on page 2. The score was either originally bound or laid in the volume but is now loose.
