The National Book League, 1948 - 1965
Scope and Contents
Various small publications by the British literacy charity The National Book League between 1948 and 1965, including examples of their Annual Lectures and Reader’s Guides. Founded in 1921 by writer Hugh Walpole, the organization has gone through many names and iterations, and is today known as Booktrust, a charity that works with schools and libraries to foster healthy reading habits in young children. Where possible, lecture dates reflect when the talk was delivered, and do not necessarily match the publication year. The materials included are as follows.
