Scope and Contents

Manuscript in 1/2 leather binding with patterned paper-covered boards and spine label reading "IRISH MANUSCRIPT". Two cards laid into the front cover identify the works inside as "Doctrine and Religious Tracts by Dr. Geoffrey Keating (c. 1569 – c. 1644), Irish historian. A list on the verso of a preliminary page gives the names of the tracts in Irish and English, the English titles being: "Of the Repentance of the Sinner", "Of the Atonement of the Sinner", "On the Absolution of the Sinner", "On Indulgences", and "The Key to the Defence of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass".
