Scope and Contents

Letters between Edwin Emerson, Ames Williams, and John Mayfield, about Emerson's publications and manuscripts; includes an account of his activity as a free lance spy in Puerto Rico at the outset of the Spanish American War, and a photostatic copy of "Reminiscences in the Life of Edwin Emerson [Sr.], Printed on the Occasion of His Seventy-eighth Year, July 2, 1901" dated 1947 through a note by Edwin Emerson, Jr. in the reproduction.
