Scope and Contents
House diary that includes entries regarding St. Peter Clavers Church, School and Convent at St. Ridge, Cardinal Gibbons Institute, St. Ignatius Church, St. Inigoes, and St. James Church, Park Hall, Md. This diary records events, sale of property, ordinations, and other activities. Newsclippings and letters are mounted for some of these entries, including a letter from Richard McSorley to Cardinal Boyle on segregation. Several entries written by Horace McKenna, S.J. For entries dated after 1952, there is little mention of Black parishioners or segregation. The closing of the parishes is documented.
