Scope and Contents

The letter of September 5, 1856 is addressed to the Hamburg cellist and composer Carl Grädener (1812-1883), the letter of September 26, 1860 to the Dresden music dealer Bernhard Friedel (died 1874). The addressee of the letter of March 21, 1869 cannot be identified, but it was written to a gentleman (probably in London) during Clara Schumann's concert stay in spring 1869 in England.
