Scope and Contents
The document is a portion of Endo’s handwritten manuscript for "Deep River" (Fukai kawa), his last major novel, which was published in 1993. The first five or six chapters of the novel and the last chapter are in this manuscript. It is not a complete manuscript of the novel.
