Series III. Printed matter, 1863 - 1948

Scope and Contents

Series III of the Montague Summers papers contains off-prints, articles, publishers' prospectuses, playbills and theatre programmes, galley proofs, news clippings and other printed ephemera collected by Summers. A small number of photographs, most intended for use in publication, is included in this series. Of particular note is the extensive collection of theatre programmes and playbills, which includes examples from Summers' own theatre societies that are not listed in d'Arch Smith's bibliography.
