Manuscript #497: ALS dated August 7, 1894 (3 pages on Kelmscott Press letterhead) from William Morris to Algernon Charles Swinburne, forwarding 3 copies of the Kelmscott edition just printed of "Atalanta in Calydon." See Curatorial file and Index card #497. See also footnote in Lang 6:70-71 re bibliographic information on the Kelmscott editions of "Atalanta in Calydon" -- Footnote #2: Watt-Dunton's library contained two copies of the Kelmscott "Atalanta" -- one inscribed by Morris and dated "August 7th, 1894," another inscribed by Swinburne and dated "August 14th, 1894" (Lots 502 and 503 in Sotheby's Catalogue, mar. 1917, of the sale of Watts-Dunton's library). Footnote #3: On Aug. 7 Morris sent Swinburne three copies of the Kelmscott "Atalanta," and a check for 63.10 [pounds] royalties -- "250 copies at 5s/o per copy" (autograph letter in the collection of A.M. Rosenbloom).
