Manuscript #307: 4 letters from Theodore Watts-Dunton to Lewis Melville. 1. ALS dated October 20, 1908 (2 pages). Reference to the publication in a forthcoming anthology of some of the former's writings, including, "A Talk on Waterloo Bridge," and "Dickens Returns on Christmas Day." 2. ANS dated January 13, 1909 (2 pages), attached to a proof for Watts-Dunton's poem, "Dicken's Returns on Christmas Day." 3. ALS dated June 29, 1909 (1 page), giving permission to reprint some of Swinburne's poems in an anthology, including "By the North Sea," and "Tristram of Lyonesse"; as well as Watts-Dunton's own verse, "A Starry Night at Sea," "The Lighthouse Girl," and "A Morning Swim at Guernsey." Notes that "...Publishers are setting their faces against anthologies -- they say that they are ruining the sales of the poets' books..." 4. ALS dated February 25, 1910 (1 page), giving permission to reprint in an anthology "The Seasons," "New Tears," and Watts-Dunton's, "Dickens Returns on Christmas Day."
