Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The papers include a large quantity of Amrine's literary manuscripts, together with correspondence, print and near print material relating to a number of subjects, most importantly, atomic energy research and development.

Correspondents include: Albert Einstein, Hans Bethe, Harold Urey, Thomas Hart Benton and William Allen White. Other materials include a collection of black and white still photographs relating to Amrine's research interests and tape recorded interviews, used as background for a number of his books.

Most manuscripts collections at the Georgetown University Booth Family Center for Special Collections are open to researchers; however, restrictions may apply to some collections. Collections stored off site require a minimum of three days for retrieval. For use of all manuscripts collections, researchers are advised to contact the Booth Family Center for Special Collections in advance of any visit.

Typed Manuscripts of short stories and articles by Amrine. Contents also include Printed Articles of newspaper articles by Amrine, a 1944 edition of the Emporia (Kan.) Gazette announcing the death of editor William Allen White, copies of a newspaper, "Kenny Letter," published by the Letterkenny Ordnance Depot Welfare Association, Chambersburg, Pa., and a 1942 reference letter from William Allen White regarding Amrine.
