This folder [No. 15 of 20] consists of Parsons Papers general correspondence/topic file material (1950) pertaining to America Magazine. Items of interest include: letters (June 7/June 22) pertaining to the question of federal subsidies and Catholic schools. Much is mentioned regarding the position of Francis [Cardinal] Spellman, Archbishop of New York, on the issue; letter (Nov. 16) speaks of nuns teaching in Public school in certain sections of Kentucky. Letter also speaks of wrong-doings on the part of the religious in Marion County, Kentucky.
