Container Summary

This folder [No. 10 of 20] consists of Parsons Papers general correspondence/topic file material (1939) pertaining to America Magazine. Items of interest: Parsons article in America Magazine (Feb. 18) on Pius XI; letter (Mar. 4) and attachment relates inability of Father Parsons and unwillingness of others to help with an [Negro] anti-lynching bill. Parsons letter also infers negative reactions regarding Georgetown University lending use of its hall for a recital by Negro concert singer Marian Anderson during the time of the Daughters of the American Revolution/Constitution Hall incident; Typescript of Radio Address which analyzes and highly critiques Rev. Charles Coughlin's radio talks, accusing him of plagiarizing from the anti-semitic speeches of Nazi official Goebbels.
