This folder [No. 9 of 20] consists of Parsons Papers general correspondence/topic file material (1937-1938) pertaining to America Magazine. Items of interest include: letter (May 26, 1937) pertains to mission work among the Negroes; letter (Dec. 16, 1937) speaks of Communist appeal among Negroes; America Magazine form letter (Jan. 27, 1938) makes appeal for more subscribers due to rising costs; form letter (Mar. 20, 1938) requests assistance in urging the President and U.S. Senate in the application of a policy of non-recognition to the annexation of Austria by Germany. Attached letter from Wilfrid Parsons, S.J., renders a response; letter (Mar. 23, 1938) describes attitudes of Austrians to union with Germany.
