Container Summary

This folder [No. 7 of 7] consists of varia [fragments] belonging to the Wilfrid Parsons Papers. Items of interest include: Manuscript fragment [on yellow stationary] relates early 20th Century racist views regarding Negroes. Writer also relates attitudes of Negroes towards other members of their own race based upon conversations with Negroes; letter fragment (Oct. 3, 1950) of historian Albert S. Foley, S.J., makes several severe allegations of racism exercised by the Catholic Church and clergy in Washington, D.C. towards Negroes. Letter also indicates reactions of clergy towards public disclosure of statements depicting racism as practiced within the Church.
