Container Summary

This folder consists of copies of a pastoral letter from the Catholic Episcopate of the United States regarding the religious situation in Mexico as well as pamphlets pertaining to numerous and varied aspects of the conflict and the present state of modern-day Mexico (1915-1927) such as the following: civil administration in Mexico, the result of U.S. Mexican policy, President Calles and the committees, religious education in Mexico, readjustment of the Mexican debt, the Mexican policy of the American Federation of Labor, the Mexican Catholic League and material concerning divorce in Mexico. Also of interest is an anti-clerical pamphlet whose title is: "A Minister of the Catholic Cult Signs the Act of his Civil Marriage in order to Redress the Wrong which he Caused to an Unhappy Young Lady, a Student in the Normal School of this City (Zacatecas, Mex.)."
