This series consists of America Magazine General Correspondence. Within this series will be found folders filed by topic and/or names of specific individuals to and from whom correspondence was either addressed or received. In addition, one will occasionally find correspondence which predates the founding of America Magazine. This particular type of correspondence, normally addressed to Father Wynne, the founding editor, was incorporated into the America Magazine general file.

Container Summary

This folder consists of general correspondence of Marieli G. Benzigar for the year 1939. Items of interest include: letters (Mar. 31/Apr. 6) relate experiences working with Negro children; letter (June 27) addresses the possible ramifications of a Nazi impenetration; letter (July 10) has attached a press bulletin of the Central Bureau of the Central Verein [dated July 6] which addresses the topic "Switzerland is Still Free"; article entitled "Free Switzerland will be Free No Longer" [subtitled: Nazis plot discord under the cover of neutrality] by Marieli G. Benziger. There are several letters in this folder which deal with the possible ramification of Nazi impenetration of smaller countries such as Holland and Belgium.
